New service of the Information Center: The Textbook Portal
«Which textbooks are recommend for my lecture?»
«Is the recommended textbook available in the "chemistry library"»
«Is its new edition available for lending?»
These and other similar questions can now be answered using the Textbook Portal on the Web site of the Information Center:
Using the course catalogue of ETH Zurich, we have searched through all lectures of the D-CHAB, D-BIOL and D-MATL departments for literature recommendations, and entered this information into our database.
Now it is possible to find recommended literature for all the study courses and course units and to see whether the book is available in the Information Center or not. In addition to the literature that is listed in the course catalogue, we also have investigated which books are recommended in the lecture and in lab courses, so that we can make it available in the library.
Here we also need your support. Please tell us if something is missing, if we list the wrong edition of a title, or if your lecturer recommends new literature. This way, you help to improve the Textbook Portal, keep it up-to-date, and to make it a useful tool for all students. Please write us, and our subject librarians will take care of your request. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome:
