Textbook Portal "Reloaded"

Duly on beginning of the semester the current recommended textbooks are available in our

Textbook Portal

Just choose study course, learning unit, or lecturer to display the recommended literature and its location in the Information Center. The system shows also if the book is available as e-book.

We have evaluated the following study courses: Biology Bachelor, Chemistry Bachelor and Master, Chemical Engineering Bachelor, Chemical and Bioengineering Master, Interdisciplinary Sciences Bachelor, Materials Science Bachelor and Master, and Pharmaceutical Sciences Bachelor and Master.

Display of textbooks in CLICAPS

The CLICAPS catalog lists recommended textbooks and course materials with a L icon. By clicking it, you obtain additional information, e.g. in which learning units the title is recommended.

Background information

Using the course catalogue of ETH Zurich, we have searched through all lectures of the D-CHAB, D-BIOL and D-MATL departments for literature recommendations, and entered this information into our database. In addition to the literature that is listed in the course catalogue, we also have investigated which books are recommended in the lecture and in lab courses, so that we can make them available in the library.

CLICAPS and the Textbook Portal think ahead

CLICAPS and the Textbook Portal consider the date of your search, i.e. if there is now autumn or spring semester, and display the appropriate textbook information. The semester breaks afterwards are included as well, so that you have available the textbook information also during your exam preparations.

Data for Spring Semester 2012

  • 207 learning units recorded
  • 366 recommended textbooks
  • 118 learning units with recommended literature
