Overview
Symyx DiscoveryGate is a web-based user interface that covers a large number of different databases from various producers. The academic version licensed by ETH contains:
- CrossFire Beilstein
- CrossFire Gmelin
- Symyx Available Chemicals Directory
- Symyx Screening Compounds Directory
- Symyx Reference Library of Synthetic Methodology
- Symyx Solid-Phase Organic Reactions
- ORGSYN Database
- Comprehensive Organic Functional Group Transformations
- Comprehensive Asymmetric Catalysis
|
- Symyx Comprehensive Medicinal Chemistry
- Symyx Drug Data Report
- Symyx Metabolite Database
- Symyx Toxicity Database
- ChemInform Reaction Library
- Current Synthetic Methodology
- Derwent Journal of Synthetic Methods
- National Cancer Institute Database
|
The common denominator for these databases are chemical compounds and their chemical structure. Outstanding features of DiscoveryGate are the consistent GUI for the heterogeneous content of the various databases and the substructure search across the databases by way of a compound index that contains all structures with the exception of Gmelin (all other databases contain mainly organic compounds).
Access
Before accessing DiscoveryGate, please read the access conditions and the installation instructions.
https://www.discoverygate.com/
DiscoveryGate as a user interface and its databases complements the database offerings of ETH Zurich and provides alternative access, i.e.
- information in Symyx Comprehensive Medicinal Chemistry, Symyx Drug Data Report, and Symyx Metabolite Database which were not available beforehand
- special reaction types in Symyx Solid-Phase Organic Reactions and Comprehensive Asymmetric Catalysis
- selected reactions in ORGSYN Database, Comprehensive Organic Functional Group Transformations, ChemInform Reaction Library, and Derwent Journal of Synthetic Methods as an alternative or supplement to the comprehensive reaction databases CrossFire Beilstein and SciFinder Scholar (CASREACT)
- alternative user interface (Webbrowser instead of client software) for CrossFire Beilstein und Gmelin. It is not a replacement for CrossFire Commander, which offers sophisticated search, display, and export options
